A Winning Approach to High-Stakes Cases

Founded by Karen Burgess, Burgess Law represents both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial litigation. Burgess Law is small by choice, with a talented, nimble, and scalable team that uses superior courtroom skills to deliver results for clients. Burgess Law’s core team tackles cases together, allowing them to leverage their collective knowledge while also delivering high levels of efficiency, communication, and service.

The firm augments this core group with expertise to build the right team for the specific case through outside counsel, appellate counsel, consultants, and experts to suit the size, complexity and geographic diversity of that case.

The firm’s agile structure allows it to step in quickly, learn a client’s business, and create and launch a proactive strategy for winning in the courtroom. And that courtroom-focused approach has yielded victories in high-profile cases in front of juries, judges, and arbitrators.

Burgess Law’s relationship with clients and its genuine interest in their success are at the heart of the firm’s work. Dedicated to solving challenges that are critical to the future of clients’ businesses, members of the Burgess Law team plan carefully, pivot when needed, and stay focused on winning when it matters most.

What Makes Us Different

Burgess Law is distinguished by a track record of success, a commitment to clients’ needs, and a results-focused approach that puts a strong emphasis on constantly driving cases toward a win.

Focused on the Courtroom

We are always ready and willing to take a case to court. Of course, that skill set—paired with preparation—can achieve an early and successful out-of-court resolution as well.

Proven Performers

Burgess Law may be small, but we are far from unproven. Our history of success in the courtroom and peer recognition rival some of the largest and most respected firms in the industry. When clients choose Burgess Law, they do so with the confidence that their choice is as smart and sound as it is bold and assertive.

We are results-oriented. Our small, nimble team of trial lawyers isn’t set up to drag cases out over years. Clients and co-counsel bring us in when it is time to assume a proactive, strategic posture and move forcefully toward the best possible outcome for their case.

Curious and Creative

In the world of business and commercial litigation, success often comes down to turning a complex and highly technical set of facts into a story that a jury of non-experts or a busy judge can easily understand. We view ourselves as storytellers and are always looking for new and unique ways to tell compelling stories that connect with diverse fact-finders in our constantly evolving society.
